- Why I search my results it returned “running” even after a long time?
- Submitted task is arranged in order according to the submitted time. There are two reasons for your waiting long time for the result: one is there are so many jobs have been submitted that you have to stand in a line; the second reason is the sequence you given have large numbers of duplications in genome, so it need much time to search homolog.
- What information we can get from FGF?
- A protein sequence is submitted to FGF and a genome data is selected, from the result we can get the below information:
(1) Find the gene family of submitted protein in data genome and give the FAST-format duplication sequence.
(2) The location of each duplication sequence in genome and intro/exon structure
(3) The stop codon and frame shift information in each duplication sequence.
(4) The ka/ks ratio of every duplication to their nearest parental copy.
(5) The figure of phylogenetic tree which is annotated by gene evolution information such as ka/ks, bootstrap, stop codon/frame shift etc.
- Is there any constraint about the sequence or the file that I want to submit?
- The sequence you submitted should be FASTA format, and you can only submit 10 sequence and 20kb length at most once
- There is an advance parameters section, what are they for?
- According to it user can set the criteria for searching gene family in genome, select the algorithm of building phylogenetic tree and choose the method to calculate ka/ks. You can see “user guide” for the details.
- In most case, how long will it take for me to receive my e-mail notification?
- You will receive the notification in a minute after you submitted your task. And when the job is completed, you will receive the other notification, but the time is determined by the numbers of tasks ahead your job.
